Hi CATTERALL's et al Very facinating website, but I'm not able to make connection of my Catterall ancestor who is Thomas Catterall who was bap. 15 Jun 1800 in Upholland Lancs. and who died 24 Nov 1876 in Southport Lancs. and is buried in Duke Street cemetery there. I believe him to be the son of William Catterall, a shoemaker in Upholland I would very much like to connect them to the Catterall family which are so very well documented on Ron Catterall's website.

Cromwells bridge at Mitton is Lancashire not yorkshire as you have stated. Very true Kathryn,, many thanks, I will correct it. When I was younger, the boundary was along the banks of the Hodder and the Ribble, and for example Little Mitton Hall was in Lancashire, and Mitton Hall, across the Ribble was in Yorkshire (West Riding). Low Bentham, where I went to school, has bounced back and forth between Lancs and Yorks - I think it is in Yorkshire now. Ron

Hi, my Grandad was James (Jim) Catterall who moved to Taunton, Somerset after WW2 when he married my Grandma, who was previously Winifred May...I cant remember her maiden name,,,will find out from my Dad when it isnt so late. Granded was from the Preston area so wonder if anyone knows of this link in the Catterall chain. My Dad, Jims son, is Roger Catterall and my Auntie is called Judith. I love my name so much that I kept it when I married!
Just come across this site. Thank you. My family are from Toxteth, Liverpool. I'm going to question my family and get back to you. Fascinating site, didn't think there were so many Catteralls' around. Thanks again.

Thankyou so much Jacqui and Ron, What a wonderful evening and delicious dinner at your lovely home in San Felipe del Agua in Oaxaca. I had a great time and Ron is an amazing gourmet cook. It was nice to see Eileen and Ian again as well. I hope I get a chance to return the gesture of hospitality in my home in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlan. I, too, love to cook and entertain. Thanks again, hope to see you soon. Abrazos, Rick Freeberg

I am the daughter of Duane Catterall who was until recently a lawyer here in Edson, he was a son of Henry Blackburn Catterall. The only son, his parents moved to Canada from England to Saskchewan to farm. Where Henry(calls himself Harry met the love of his life waited until she was old enough to get married, and without her parents ok, they ran to Edmonton Alberta and got married, sent home a telegram telling the happy news. A few years later my Dad Duane was the only child was born. My Dad married is bestfriends sister, Angeline Borys in 1969 and in 1971 they had me and in 1974 they had my brother Christopher. Christoper met Lindsay and had Tyson and Alexia they are the next generation of Catterall's. I got married to Darren Busch and had childern too, but mine are Busch's, but they are Michael, Nicholas and Jesstine just for the record. Please if you are interested in our side of the family please email us, I will try to answer your questions. My grandparents are sadly pasted on now but my Dad and Mom are still here so together maybe we can answer any questions. Love to talk to family.

Hi all, trying to find information about my Nanna's family, she was Lily Brown nee Catterall. She was one of thirteen children (Clifford, George, William, May, Harry, Jack, James, Edith, Peter and Edward). They lived in Chorley. Her parents were George Catterall and Isobela Dainty originally from Wigan. Any information will be greatly received, thanks.
